Republican Debates

TUESDAY, Oct. 9: Republican Candidates gather in Dearborn, Michigan. The debate airs at 6:00 p.m. on MSNBC.

There is another Republican debate slated for October 21st in Florida where candidates will focus in part on Hispanic issues. Jeb Bush, former FL Governor, said, “I am disappointed in my party as it relates to the tone of the immigration debate; that was really troubling. Our nominee will have to work hard to repair the damage.” Perhaps this debate will get a better conversation going. (Hat Tip: Luis Clemens at LaPolitica)

Thomas Lifson, at American Thinker, has a short piece titled "Contest for the Hispanic Vote." He believes the GOP has a shot at 'garnering' the Hispanic vote. He writes, "Those Hispanics who legally vote are likely to be interested seeing that their hard work gets rewarded, and embrace family values, for example. In California, where I live, there is an ongoing explosion of entrepreneurial activity. And the extraordinarily proud record of Mexican-Americans in the United States Military speaks volumes about values."
